TR: La Costa 08-02-08

We had another great ride today. 2 new member of Dirt Treaders dfacerdm and gossi were present today for their inception to the crew. We had a noshow but won't hold it against him...yet. J/K.
Mike Kim, Dirty Boo, myself, my neighbor and his friend met up, got our bikes and gear ready, and began our trek upwards...
We started out up The Switchbacks Trail. We all arrived to the kiosk without issue, and this is where we saw the first tarantula...dead..

We chatted, got our bearings about us took a group pic...

We then proceeded to head down on Vista Del Mar Trail, and we all played on the rocks, taking turns and having a great time....except for a bit of repair needing...

Boo took some short vids of our funtime on the walls. We made it to the bottom and turned around and headed back up...The Vista Del Mar Trail. A little trailside maintenance....

While my neighbor performed serious surgery on his chain Boo was a ways back and I thought something was wrong, but then my phone rings and its her...now I really think something is wrong, but she just called to let me know she stopped for a photo op with another tarantula....

She said one of those giant wasps was floating around it when she came upon this gargantuan eight legged beast.
Boo meets up with us near the end of the trailside maintenance, and we all make our way back to the kiosk where we hang for just a short bit before making our way down. My neighbor, his friend, Boo and gossi headed down The Switchbacks Trail....whats this?........

Meanwhile Mike Kim, dfacerdm and myself screamed down Nascar...yeah!!!!
It was another great ride today. I am indeed a very lucky person to have the opportunity to ride with such an awesome group of people all the time.
Thanks to all who showed up and rode today, I look forwrd to doing it again.

I liked how we sessioned the rocks on Vista Del Mar; and the blazefest down Nascar! Nice to meet everyone, and Pete and Sue always a pleasure.

Dirtreaders ruled the hill!

Only been there once, but seeing these pics/vids (minus the gigantic hairy spiders) makes me miss that place!

I must say I'm quite jealous. That really is a great spot to ride. I can't believe it's been a month already.

looks like yall had fun. I was the flake and will offer no lame excuses. only good ones like I was just too tired to get out of bed. isnt getting up ealy a roadie thing? or is that a Im married and my wife wants me back by 10am so I can take the kids to soccer practice thing? sorry dudes, you must understand, the danimal earned his name on friday and saturday nights! :drunk:
