Don't get stuck in a rut. Force yourself to ride Black Mt because it's open for business |

Daley has always been full of ruts from day one. They used to be my main nemesis out there as I always panicked when I dropped into one. My suggestion is to drive a lil' further an go to Greer Ranch where conditions were fantastic overall yesterday. They've done a lot of "clean up" trail maintenance out there. Monday-Wednesday will be epic out there for sure. |

Ruts require some old-school skills and can be an enjoyable challenge. The deeper they are the more mental it gets. I fell into a couple of new ones yesterday! |

Yea, the ruts, not really that many throughout the park as a whole, just most notably on Burn Mt Trail, by the by, that deep rut sign is at the bottom end of Burnt Mt Trail, not at the more logical location....but the ruts didn't really bother me much, kinda fun navigating them. Bobcat wasnt too phazed by the rains, RockRidge Trail had the most stream crossings was really fun, Crest was its usual self with the one rocky descent is ever evolving or devolving depending on your perception was a blast. Once we got far enough away from the parking lot and the hikers we didn’t really encounter many other mt bikers. Ive been wanting to get out to Greer but Im not sure I want to go on a weekend, just to avoid the crowd, Im gonna hit it on a weekday. |

I can't tell from this statement if you've been before or not but while weekdays are definitely nearly empty, the crowds on weekends aren't too bad actually. While people seem to stack up at the trailheads themselves at the top of the climbs, you very rarely run into people while you're actually riding (hauling the mail) as you go down. If anything, I *occasionalyl* get caught and pass don the climbs because I'm in no rush as I sit and spin my way along. |

I havent ridden there yet, one of the reasons I want to hit it during the week. I dont really haul the mail much anymore, more like rolling lethargically like a bloated sow, although when reliving sweet singletrack through my minds eye Im really cooking with gas... |
