I was in Missoula for a long weekend last weekend in October and dusted the lefty off for a ride. Went to the RattleSnake recreation area, which is near town and has many miles of trails.

Weather was changing fast, so I went for the high point first, the trail to the Wilderness boundary on Stuart Peak, very buff stuff:


Then it started snowing:


Turn around point at 6800 ft.:


Fingers got very cold, so I used a ziplock bag to keep the wind off them:


Larch needles made for a golden trail:


Awesome fall colors from the Snowbowl overlook:


Dropping down from the alpine to the lower elevations the trail becomes more of a flow trail with big banked turns and little jumps:


Nice ~20 mile ride with +/- 4000 ft, right near town.
