Good ride this morning.
Well, I decided to reassemble the hardtail this last week and use it for some skills and endurance building.
This morning I rode from my home to my normal trailhead at Calavera. It was pretty cool, I got there much sooner than I expected to, in under 15 minutes. I rode around Calavera, and found some very fresh new techy single track, way fun, would have been more fun on the Heckler, but I wouldn't have been able to ride that lead sled from home and back without having to buy new rubber after the trip. In all, I got 1 hour 44 minutes of riding in, 15.5 miles and 1550 ft of elevation gain. It was interesting the line choices I made compared to riding the tank. No pics this time, maybe next time.
Heres some for the halibut..ImageImage

Nice. What's the hardtail? You should convert it to SS.

I'll say this, after riding my beast around with what seems like the most rolling resistance known to man, this felt like a roadie bike. I seriously was spinning in high gears the whole time, what a trip, I hpoe it doesn't jack me when I ride the big bike again. On the street I left it in the big chain ring, and middle to small in the back, on the dirt I was in the middle up front and middle in the back..except when I went up the gatorback, I was in middle front, and second and third in the back.
My hardtail is an old Trek 4900 I bought back in '98. I've had that thing apart and put back together soo many times its ridiculous.
Doug..heal well, been missing riding with you bro...hugs and kisses
