Climbing out of the PO creek crossing, the one that used to have a rickety little bridge. Attachment: CE12D55E-9AA0-44D7-8FD3-7A5E50895723.jpeg [ 6.7 MiB | Viewed 2187 times ] On a recent group ride, everyone said they hadn’t tried that crossing in a long time, so we gave it a visit. The rutted descent from the other side hadn’t changed much, and was fun until a broken branch stub off a trailside tree I never saw caught my left hand and took me down. No harm except a black & blue pinky finger. I removed that stub all the way off but there’s another shorter one I couldn’t break off. The water was deeper and smellier, and the exit bank steeper, than it used to be, but there are still some stepping stones. Only one of us got a wet foot and it wasn’t me… By the way, if in doubt go for a ride anyway. I was not well yesterday and had to drop out of the group ride. I woke up today feeling crap again but went anyway. What the hell — I had a really good ride! |
