I found the perfect pair of biking shoes for you, bro....Shimano cycling sandals.

They provide the perfect amount of arch support, yet are still lightweight for your agro riding style. Plus they are "open air" so you can show off your pedicure. They are about as cool as a pair of purple Tevas. Definitely an upgrade from your Vision slip-ons...

Ldood sure did. He had a good point - rocks bouncing up into your toes...ouch. But it really would cement that "I am so cool I can wear clipless sandals" attitude. Sometimes ill take my mtn bike down the 101 w no helmet and sandals just to look socal. Passing a roadie on a mtn bike and sandals, even you can only keep it up for a mile...priceless.
