Boo and I decided to let the mini sloths spread their wings today. FatWhat? was there with us to witness the boys maiden journey as well. We took them on their most challenging ride to date.
La Cost trails, The boys did a great job climbing switchback, they were suprised with themselves that they climbed it all the way to the top in such short order. Once to the top, they marveled at the view and rock formations. A short rest to get their breath and it was down the new trail, Vista Del Mar I believe. The youngest decended it like hes been here before, he is quite a rider. The older son stayed with me, and we enjoyed our trip down the windy singletrack. One lap was enough the boys, they now know what to expect if they happen to want to venture out and do two laps with us next time.
Photos are in the gallery, and Boo still has to load hers up.

Awesome ride today Sloth. It was a lot of fun to see your boys tearing up the trail. When do the sponsors show up?

Looks like you all had a great time. Get lots of pics because they grow up fast. I can't believe my oldest (of three boys) just turned 30... yikes. If your up in San Clemete or Aliso Woods hit me and I'll join you on the trails...

Yeah, it is amazing how fast they grow up, it seems like last week they were in training wheels. We had a great time and my younger son had an absolute blast, he really suprised me with his descending skilz. Serious, 'cause that kid is so uncoordinated I swear he has two left hands and two right feet, but he can ride very well, so I'm really stoked with his progression.
Thanks, I'll take you up on it soon.
Didn't we do a SCST ride on News Years Morning?
You rode a Specialized hard-tail?
If I'm wrong I apologize.
:)

Yea, that was my 2nd mtb ride ever... I upgraded to a specialize stumpy. Sold the '08 rock hopper' and bought a new '07' stumpy expert.. I could ride the hardtail more like a motorcycle (I use to ride desrt enduro), but the stumpy is a whole new beast and I'm just now getting it down after 2-3 months. The Hydralic front brake is really spooky... very touchy and has sent me OTBs 4 time now... I'm just trying to build up my skills by working on climbing in Aliso Woods and XC trail riding in SCST. My goal is to ride more epic type rides...safely... still gota pay the bills.
