Here’s a good write up of this year’s just-concluded ride (“it’s not a race”).

Another write-up, by the co-“winner”. He rode a dual-suspension bike, which is not traditional but becoming more common. For good reason IMO.

I know a couple of the finishers this year. Winners in everything they do in life.

This year’s ride was blazing fast. Both the men’s and women’s records that stood since 2012 & 2013 were broken. But.. “it’s not a race”.

I have a fascination with what this ride imparts to the rider. Some maybe most don't finish, but almost all seem to gain a lot of personal insight from the experience. Finishers get that accomplishment on top.

At least one DT'er has a bike featured.

This year’s event is just finishing up, a few still out on the course. As you can imagine, all the rain and snow made the course difficult in many places, and a lot of last minute reroutes were sent to the entrants. For the most part, I think they avoided the freezing storms and brutal heat of years past, but the trail conditions were tough in many places. So many riders wanted to enter, but the number was restricted to avoid the ire of land managers, so this year an alternate version, the Sideshow, was created which ran the opposite direction.
