In light of shitty supply chains with crazy delays, I figured it would be a good time to stock up on a few extra parts to have on hand. Could not find what I needed from online shops, so resorted to eBay. Chain, Cassette and der hanger. Almost got a spare derailleur out of fear, but reckon that is not as likely to break, and availability is more likely to be OK. Still have to wait up to two weeks for everything to arrive.

Will probably pick up a spare rear tire now that I finally found one I like again (and since I seem to go through them like water). And already have a set of extra brake pads. So, that should be sufficient to greatly reduce the odds of having the bike sidelined if something common breaks or wears out.

It would be  to break something and then discover delivery might be weeks or months out.

Yeah, but you won't ride with me unless it's Calavera.

If you need 4 piston Shimano pads or 180mm Shimano RT86 rotors, I suggest buying whatever you can, when you can. Prices are way up and it was a biatch to find the rotors anywhere. Luckily, a board member has switched to center lock and is going to send me his spares because I hd resorted to ordering a used one off eBay which is definitely a first for me.

Another option if you know anybody in Europe is to have them buy your stuff and mail it to you. I do that with my daughter living in Germany.

Brake pads are hard to get. Bought some supposed proper replacements and the wrong type were delivered. Annoyed but desperate, I installed the wrong type pads successfully with serious McGuyver-ing mickey mouse homer simpson like moves. Luckily, 2 rides and no problems so far and the right pads are en route. However, to the point of the OP, definitely get the right parts if you can now. Pads and chains.
