Jumping. Scary for many, including me. I do it, but not well and not big, and it's always accompanied with the threat of disaster. This is the first video I've ever watched that really breaks down the mechanics perfectly.

Jumping big hip jumps at P mtn literally cost me my life. I was an avid gungho GO BIG jumper but that one time when you think you have it and you dont can rock the rest of your life.

I broke my tibia plateau and had an IVC filter implanted to stop the killer blood clot I had incurred.
The IVC filter broke which nearly killed me. I coughed after surgery and my femoral artery burst and nearly died again due to blood loss.

Pride is great when you ride with the best of them and hit the same jumps as Sam Hill and Carter but when it comes down to it, they aint gonna pay your medical bill or sit with you and watch you in a hospital bed.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL...

Oh my God!  I'd seen you post that you'd broken your leg. Obviously there was more to that horrible story. I'll never be a GO BIG jumper. At 50, I've definitely started splatting more than bouncing when shit goes sideways, but I'll keep incrementing some baby steps and hope things never end up like your experience. Congrats on your survival!

It was cool to learn the physics behind why you feel more stable in the air when you cross the bike up.
