I managed to get in a ride at my local trail (aliso wood) and on sunday met up w/ the boys for a ride at Nix Nature Center and headed over to El Moro.

Yesterday's ride was awesome but dam was it hotter than heck. I must say though i wasnt feeling it as badly as some of my other riding buds. they ran out of water at the 2hr mark i was still okay. I think it has a lot to do w/ the saltstick capsules i've been popping. It's all but killed my usual cramping towards the end of my rides.

I've yet to d/l my ride data to see the elevation gain i did yesterday but i'm sure it'll be cool.

Oh and riding my 29'er was AWESOME. there was a rock outcropping that totally cleaned with finesse and i attribute it to the bike and not me ;) it was so cool my buds didnt clear it and i managed to do it. right at the top i yelled out "29'er baby" i know geeky but i was excited :)

can you get some pics of your hook install? i have mine leaning up the wall etc and would like to get it up and out of the way. I have a project i want to tackle this summer; create a workstation for my bike/tools/etc.

sure, but it's not really pic worthy...

the best thing we have are these shelves. we have two above where the garage door goes. one is over my pathfinder. those things are gold.

i'm also working on a workstation. right now it's a shelf with shit piled up to the ceiling.

Got a fun night ride on Friday, 21 miles of sweet single track and some fire road, we finished at 10:45 pm! Sunday was our usual group ride, we cut it short, only about 10 miles because it was too hot.
I've done a lot of work on my back yard since I was off last week that I was ready to be back to work today so I can rest!

I rode Sunday too, but started at 630am and it was already hot, just did the lower section of AW, did Coyotes on the way back, that trail is fun if you pedal the whole time, I tried to hit tha tlast hill but lost traction and couldn't get up it, plus I was on my single speed. :), was in and out by 8 ish...:)

I did a 50 mile road race on a friends road bike. Things I learned:

1) Never, ever go on a long ride on a bike you've never ridden.
2) Road riding is boring.
3) Road snobs are even snobbier than MTB snobs.
4) I do not want to buy a road bike this winter!

Road Riding is is great!

I did a 35 mile road ride on Saturday with SDBC (D2). Blew myself up on Torrey Pines hoping I could take a minute off my best time. I failed miserably.

I rolled up my pants and rode my fixed gear from Mission Valley into the urban neighborhoods of San Diego today, stopping briefly and the velodrome.

I used to be really into road riding, before I got really into mountain biking. I don't why, but the ride on Sunday just wasn't fun. After some retrospection, I still might give a new road bike a shot.

EC,

You need to get one of these SS CX bikes like the one I have. Road, dirt, grass, it don't matter!

No, I rode up Presidio. Texas Street is the most difficult way out of the 4-5 routes out of Mission Valley to the north. I've done it on my fixed gear a couple of times, and I just avoid it now. Bachman Pl, Juan Street, and Presidio are all noticeably easier.
