Attachment: First of 3 rock piles I saw this coyote on this afternoon. OBTW, the soils in the S40 are in very rideable condition. |

^^^ You got a twoferone! Hawk and coyote both. Nice. They like the view from on top of a rock as much as we do, although for different reasons. They’re looking to fill their stomachs, and we’re filling our soul a little bit. I took this one out there recently. This falcon was swooping around and landed a couple of places, but this was as close as he’d let me get…I should carry a real camera. I couldn’t decide if it is a peregrine or a kestrel. Markings are more kestrel, but coloration more peregrine. Attachment:

Have seen this beauty at the Batiquitos lagoon the past two days. Think it’s stealing fish from egrets and herons. It waits in a tree then when somebody catches something too large to gulp down pronto, it pounces! Spotted it with good size fish both days, so maybe it will hang around. Also may have spotted a young eagle…big and burly and all dark top and bottom. Attachment:

Stonehenge roadrunner. Did NOT want to pose! Other shots in the series show off a surprising (to me at least) amount of blue and green in its plumage. Reminds me of how hummingbirds only flash color when the light angle is just right. Attachment:
