The Maestro suspension blows the FSR out the water. The specialized gets sloppy when wide open and the Giant remains compliant even with out of the saddle efforts; and that's the main reason for the Brain on the specialized bikes. Giant went with a 1.5 to 1.25 inch steer tube requiring a special stem, more stiffness, I don't push a bike to those limits to feel a difference, punk! Wish I could have taken my rockshox fork with me, but that did me in; I like being able to adjust the firmness of my lockout.
The Specialized is a good bike, it was quite the love affair, but again, I'm a sucker for a deal and the Giant was a straight up STEAL.

my dad has that bike fred. i rode it a few times even though it is a small and i ride a medium but that bike is a total trail slayer! we are in the same giant family now =) I have a reign.
