I'm going to start using my SS more, right now I have 32:20 but I'm going to change it to 32:18 tonight since sometimes I feel spinning too much, just changed the crankset and put a new Surly 32t, just wondering what you guys running??

I was running 32:18, but after 12 miles at SCST last time, I decided to go to 32:20. My legs are usually stronger than my lungs, but I still run out of pedal stroke on some steepies if I didn't grab enough momentum on the way up. You are definitely windmilling on the flats but it opens up alot more trail options. My ultimate goal is to be able to ride the same trails I ride with my geared squishy bike. Well, at least by way of elevation or grade, for starters.

12 miles doesn't sound like alot at SCST, but doing it on a single speed at 32:18 is definitely challenging(at least for me). Especially coming back out of it the hard way :D

32:20, lots of hills around these parts. you do spin a little, I may be converting my SS to 1x9 though...SSing is just hard when you ride as little as I do.
