I can hear Ballast Point laughing from here.

What am I sippin’ on? Beer from a bottle like the old days. The whole craft beer in a can thing has been very convenient and a boon to breweries and consumers, maybe even the environment. But you pay a price for convenience, and that price is arguably a higher risk for cancer or recurrence of cancer, since almost all modern beer cans have a BPA lining. That’s how they were able to keep the taste unaffected by the aluminum. Yes, it’s the same BPA being removed from everything else and banned in Europe. Risk is relative, and we all make our own choices. So just an FYI. Y’all know how to use google.

Balcones bourbon from Texas. Time to relax - tomorrow is my Monday. But then the next day is my Friday, so not too bad. A few more months and I’m done.

Good ride this morning with Rick and Spotter. I stayed well hydrated today, unlike Saturday. And if I tracked such things, I probably set a PR on our last uphill climb, motivated by a fast-approaching ranger truck — our ride was almost over, legal trails were in sight, and we had no interest in talking to him.

Maintaining a tradition, one ride at a time. This 10:30AM beer is delicious, with hints of pine.

It was fun passing around that delicious Larceny bourbon under the pine tree after this morning’s ride. And now the little grandkids are snoring lightly and farting gently, while The Lion King runs at very low volume on an endless loop in the bedroom. Seemed like a perfect time to break the seal on this bottle of Willetts for an adult moment or two in a darkened house. Mmm. Fine stuff. A good day all around.
