There's a plant in MTRP and on my neighborhood trails that has fern-like pale green leaves, pale yellow flowers, and seed pods that sound exactly like a rattlesnake when you brush up against them. Are there any professional, semi-professional, or rank amateur botanists on DT who can identify that plant? I looked online for a bit but my Google-fu is admittedly weak. Don't ask for a picture - I've been on this site for only eleven years so I haven't yet figured out how to post anything but stock photos and YouTube music videos. |

^^^ Sounds like mesquite if you’re talking about tree size, or maybe bladder pod if bush size, but it doesn’t have fern-like leaves. It has that sound though. |

The iNaturalist app says those are milkvetch plants. |
