Started riding road around the neighborhood and the dirt eventually drew me in.

The road home was almost a walk home, I crossed his path no more than 45 seconds after his tire went flat; as we did the repair a hiker passed by " that's the wrong bike and tire choice for these trails", unsolicited mind you; if a look could kill, Mike committed murder

Thankfully Fred decided to bring his repair kit on his solo ride so he could have my back in my moment of need, in spandex on the trails. The chances and timing of our encounter were nothing short of remarkable.

Yep. Fred’s prepared. Not just patch kits. His roll of duct tape has saved the day a couple of times. At the other extreme, we saw a guy walking his expensive flat-tired bike past the pad with a dejected going-home look. Asked if he needed any help, and he said “No, I’m good.” He had no water bottle, no hydration pack, no tool bag. Light & fast I guess. It was a good day for a walk though.
