Hell froze over on Labor Day. QuietStorm (aka Mr. Shuttle) completed his first epic while riding the Virgin Rim River Trail on a 5-day trip to Brian Head, UT with Deno, Evdog, Stang, and myself. Nearly 33 miles, 4,100’ of climbing and 4,800’ of descent in 8 hours. These stats don’t seem significant until you consider 80% of this route is above 9,000’ elevation which even had some of the veterans struggling with their 35 lb bikes. A big congratulations to Mike for completing this ride, despite his apprehensions.

Full ride reports of the entire trip to come as we dig through 3GB of pictures and video.

Awesome shots!

My brother inlaw has a cabin on Strawberry Point Rd right next to the dirt landing strip. Now thats being spoiled, fly up and taxi to the cabin, unload the bikes, ride the best trails in the country. Sometimes life is good. VRRT...my fav trail in the world. Add in the loop around Navajo Lake along with VRRT and now you have one sweet epic.

I hope they bring back the Brian Head Epic!

Is it just me, or does his head look photoshopped on? Seriously!

Good job QS, and also Stang, for reasons you'll all see soon enough.

Put QS on an xc bike and I think he'd kill it. Good job, 'tard!

I'll put my pics up one of these days....

Sounds like there was at least 700 feet of shuttling involved!

Definately a fantastic ride. This should be on everyones list either on your short list on your long list.

And I thought that riding up SJT to the campground, around the Blue Jay loop and back down last year was epic enough for me, but it's pretty damn hard to beat the views from VRRT. That's that makes it a true epic for me.

Just wait until you guys see the rock pics....
