Ok so at work things are kind of shaky just like everywhere else (work for the big phone co.) and I suppost to interview for a job that I didn't ask that involves working with Cisco Routers and if I get it can get Cisco Certification and I'm told that is a good thing, here is the catch: the job is in Sacramento!!! I have no plans on going anywhere and I have very very limited experiance with Cisco and is that not enough I can't turn it down, if I do I'm quiting! My only way around is to play dummer than usual and claim I don't know anything about Cisco routers and is about the true, any advise? Is anyone familiar with what I'm talking about? :?:

I don't know about cisco routers, but I got a family member that works for Cisco in the bay area.... anything you would like me to ask him in particular?

Thanks, I talked to someone that is already working up there and is a cool job but the problem is that is too far. I already did my big move 20 years ago when I decided to move 6 miles north from Tijuana to Chula Vista, had enough

Remember Jose there arent that many mountains to ride in Sacramento, but you'll be close to Tahoe and the Bay area!

Are you kidding? Auburn, Kernville, Lake Isabella, Santa Cruz, to name a few, trust me I already look in to it but still not worth the move, as I always say family is first :D

most of cisco equip has a standardized ethernet or rs232(serial port) command line interface which i believe is unix based. Accessed through hyper terminal or procomm. they do that so if you can setup one piece of their equipment you can almost work on anything they have. to flunk your interview, make sure you don't know anything about:

-IP addressing
-subnetting
-OSI and TCP/IP models
-interntet gateways
-routing
-switching
-data transmission protocols

the rest is up to you. Maybe don't shower and curse alot also :D

good luck! knock em dead!

I suppose in this situation to remain in San Diego ignorance would most certainly be a bliss.
