Not able to sneak out with my usual rig and claim I'm doing something essential, so dug through the archives.

We were both surprised when he slammed into the window right next to me. A few minutes later he flew away, and I opened a beer. Doesn’t take much for me to celebrate.

Walked through her web.

Found her crawling up the back of my right knee. ‘Bout a 3 inch span.

Did a “Not-Fast-stepping-on-a-rattle-snake dance”.

Not pretty...

The best I can tell is it is an orb weaver spider:

Argiope aurantia(Black and Yellow Garden Spider) (all the photos were from the US)

It looked more like a Argiope catenulata (Grass Cross Spider) but all the photos were from SE Asia.

Now riddle me this: what kind of snake did GForce find up above?

The trailing one-third of a local gopher snake.

P.S. Gforce’s photo is a longnose snake, although at first look I guessed a variety of king snake.

Yes, I too learned later on it was a long nosed snake. First time I have ever seen one and, apparently, they are rarely seen. I initially thought it was a king snake too.

Taken this morning, quite the surprising critter coincidence.

This shot was not officially during a bike ride (we were walking to the garage to get our bikes though). This mini dragon was defending itself and giving the neighbor's s murderer second thoughts. I was compelled to intervene and run interference so the little-big guy could make his escape unscathed.

My new specialty appears to be photographing fractions of a snake. At least this time it’s the front half. This was a particularly handsome gopher snake, although my wife was not as fond of it as I was.

Yesterday I should have had a back-half of a rattlesnake photo, but I forgot to remove my gloves so the touchscreen didn’t work, my sunglasses were too dark to see the screen, and the shutter noise was disabled, so I was literally clueless that I had no photo. Maybe next time I’ll remember to take the gloves off or press an actual rather than virtual button.

By the way, my sample size is non-scientifically small and my memory is suspect, but has anyone else noticed that when you interrupt a gopher snake crossing a trail, it usually goes back the way it came from, but a rattlesnake usually says fuck you and continues the same direction?
