Same brewery, Bayou Teche, but they hit the mark with their DIPA.

Beer and a rifle!

And a tube-fed, bolt-action, varmint vanquisher at sunrise/set from the back porch to boot. ‘Merca!

^^^ Ha! Sunset. I don’t start my drinking at sunrise any more. You know I can’t even get an early start on a bike ride!

Their IPA is only adequate, but their Imperial Stout is damn good.

You can’t judge a book by its cover, nor a beer by its label. Two pretty cool graphic designs. The one on the left was from Illinois, said to be a tart NE IPA. It was so bad I not only couldn’t finish it, I couldn’t even start it! The one on the right was from Alabama, and was a delicious oatmeal coffee stout. The South wins this round.

^^^ No comments Christ? I hope DirtTreaders recognize this as more than a beer. There are some good stories to go with that Airborne beer. My late uncle didn’t carry beer in his helmet as far as I know, but he earned a Bronze Star there.

Mom was a nurse attached to Patton’s 3rd Army Group and Dad was a bomber mechanic stationed in England, so WWII (esp. European Theater) is in the family history.

Unfortunately, she said little and he said nothing about the war.
