Has anyone done the Larison Rock shuttle? I'm wondering if my sons can do it. It looks like they can from youtube videos. They are good riders on good bikes.

We did Larison one year, should be a TR here under Oregon. I didn't really like the trail. It was nice and buff, but was continuously steep enough you had to drag the brakes the whole way. There was no where to let go and bleed off speed naturally. Kids should be able to handle it. It isnt rocky or too steep at all.

That's good to know. I haven't really looked into MRT since friends descriptions weren't great(they also rode it in 1 inch of snow). Any riding is good riding still.

Ill be meeting a friend from SD in a few weeks in Bend so I might convince her to ride the upper part.

If you're going to be in Bend, just shuttle it with Cog Wild. It's absolutely worth doing for the top half and Blue Pool. Even the lower half is beautiful, it's just on the repetitive side....as are most of the trails in Bend so there's that. You'll have fun no matter what, riding new stuff that is all better than what we ride 90% of the time.

Agree with the dragging the brakes issue but it was still fun....once. We actually had a guy on that shuttle that was probably 5 foot 7 and 290 lbs. He was dressed like he stepped out of the 80's and appeared to be 60 years old. I didn't expect him to survive that run but he came down about 20 seconds behind us...and I thought I had been going fast. I'm even slower than I thought I was. Turns out the guy was 71 if I remember correctly. He's a "local" from Eugene and all he does is shuttle....alot.
