Looking at locations for the ride. Keep in mind some places like Daley will need a lead time for reserving space.

I liked Kimba’s suggestion and am open to that. However, your last-listed choice is more of a ride description than a location. I assume the trailhead / party spot would be Black Mountain Community Park (I’m not familiar with facilities as I always park at Miner’s). Then you could choose mega- or mini- loops originating from there.

Yep, at Blk Mt Park in the back near the trail. You can ride to LPQ, Lusardi loop, across the street to Blk Mt, East ridge, and/or any combo the trails there

Not finding many specifics online, but apparently alcohol is okay except 10PM - 6AM, so that’s cool. What about shade, BBQ’s, & restrooms?

I’m thinking Calavera should
probably not be an option at
this point.
I talked to Roger today. He said
Ranger Gabe chased him down at
the Church entrance and told him
“No riding here, $1000 fine, blah, blah”.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to ride there.

Yep, running into LEO's when you just want to get some fresh air and work off the grande breakfast burrito is a pain...

Turned lemons into lemonade tho...rode LPQ instead and got within 25yds of a mule deer in the grove above tunnels 4. No pics; it wasn't willing to wait for me to get my phone out.

I thought there were porta potties but don't recall seeing any the last few times there - maybe closer to the entrance? Hard to believe there wouldn't be anything... Plenty of bushes regardless. I'll vote for BM just 'cause it's closer. I'm on the DL so the riding aspect is irrelevant, which means I'd be ok with Daley too. I think the last time I rode Daley was the original debauchery ride.

By the baseball fields park across the street from Miner's aren't there regulation bathrooms and lots of places to party?

Dan, Black Mountain Park is specifically named in the list that there is a 24 Hour ban on alcohol consumption per 56.54 of the San Diego Municipal Code. I can't speak how strictly it's enforced, especially on folks of your upstanding character (Harley being the exception), but when I left patrol in 2011, it was a $250 fine. I'm sure it's much higher nowadays. :drunk:

I think we went with the red solo cups at Daley. Maybe we should go with a different color since red is a dead giveaway.

^^^ Thumbs down on BM Community Park across from Miner’s. I got the alcohol info from their sparse website, then called the City, who told me there’s nothing there except parking, open sports fields, and a dog poop bag dispenser. Nada else. At least the Miner’s Loop parking had a picnic table last time I was there.

I agree it’s prolly solo cup and camouflage coozie time anywhere we go.

BM Park has porta potties by the baseball backstops but no benches or tables. I don't think you'll find any place that allows frosties. A certain assoc has a stop there during a yearly ride and they have served it up without an issue that I know of. Never saying it's legal but..
Miners loop is just an asphalt lot but not patrolled much. Bankerboy & I met the ranger up there waiting for people to show up for a walk but nobody showed. There is Park Village park but once again, frosties might be an issue.

BTW: Harley is a pillar of society and an upstanding roll model citizen even if he does drive a Ford :hello:
