Jolly, I might have to check this place out before the bulldozers come.
Never rode in a pristine wonderland before.

May be irrelevant but thought it was interesting (and disappointing to us) that West Group's Bistro on Cannon and I-5 closed down recently. West Group owned that Cantarini parcel, not sure if they still do. Trancex I believe that post has been up for 13 years on this Carlsbad site, so maybe its dated? Socaljack, any news?

That is funny. Calavera is anything but pristine.

Old Farming trash everywhere out there.

I did a short one last night, everything was normal, but I only rode Monkey Flower to Techno, then up to the PAD and down BA, then back up via the mini-grand canyon.

Rode up the spine (or Mordor) and saw the CPD ranger standing there on the trail checking out his phone. He seemed oblivious to us and we quietly turned around. No plants or animals were injured, and the ride continued. Peace bros..

Was he at the top of the spine, like where the trail to the top of the volcano starts? I wonder if he was talking to those coming up and down the volcano, since that is technically considered off limits(even though there is no signage to back that up that I have ever seen.).

He was toward the bottom, in the relative flat right before the first big hump on the left side as you go up.

3/4 None of this was there a week ago, well except the vegetation and rabbit, I'm sure they were there last week.

Spotted a couple signs, a porta-pottie, oh and a GIANT Arc Welder!!!

Oh and some rare vegetation and wildlife (because according to Google Earth there is only 10% what there was 10 years ago)

Speaking of which, what about the endangered Mt Biker who's natural habitat is dwindling and he's being forced to seek alternative territory to roam???

Note the Go Around that wasn't there a week ago.
