Some pretty crazy stuff going on here...

(Let's say for the sake of argument that the bike actually performs as well as they say it will)

Interesting. Yes, I would ride it. But I wouldn't buy it unless it really offered a "quantum leap" in performance as they claim. I have no objection to the linkage fork concept at all, but this design is really lacking in elegance and perceived simplicity.

Two observations:
1) Water bottle cages are so gauche
2) Future For Sale ads for used forks with steer tubes cut at 2" long

Given that my riding style is geared more towards a Lauf odd fork design than this one, I can't really talk performance.

Can you imagine this mated to a Softride bike?

Wonder what sort of weight you'd be looking at. There are some very capable forks these days around 4 lbs. If they could use a standard size rear shock just with different damping it might be pretty cost effective.

The lack of a solid head tube makes the frame look a bit sketchy.

I'm kind of intrigued - mostly because this linkage system is designed to slacken the bike as the front wheel compresses, rather than steepening the angle, which is what happens now.

If it makes the ride more stable and less prone to over-the-bar adventures, I'd consider it!

Here's another linkage fork idea:

Wow - that one seems pretty odd. And heavy. The advantages they claim this linkage has don't seem to justify the additional levers. The previous option seemed to be address the changing angles that compression introduce. This just seem different to be different.

Hey, the linkage designs keep coming, with two positive reviews of this one:

Regardless of how it rides, it looks to me like a one-crash fork.

I liked the looks of those Horst linkage forks, they seemed to make sense, but they did not cut it when it came to reality.

MSRP of 1590 Euro or almost $1800.

I have a self imposed $3.5k limit on bikes and even that seems somewhat stupid every 5ish years. Most forks spec'd on bikes in my price range go for $800-1000. So nope; not until there's wide spread acceptance and some trickle down.

Just scrolled through previous posts and saw ODDs comment about mating one of these with a Softride. Ha! Ha! Had a Softride TT bike when I was into triathlon; what an odd ride it was. And what a messed up looking bike the chimera would be...

WAY less fugly, and comes from Weagle: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/trust-performances-the-message-carbon-fiber-linkage-fork.html

If it works as advertised, I'd rock that thing. Just need to hit a few lotto numbers to work it into the bike budget. $2700?!! Go piss up a rope.
