One of the benefits of the hosting change was I was able to set up https access. Unfortunately, I missed the setting that forces everything to https, but I'll figure that out one of these days.

So, if you want to access DT securely:

https://dirttreaders.com

In other news, I haven't had to pay a bill to our host yet because I got $20 free from a coupon code. The next bill will be for < $1, but the one after that begins the $7/mo. rate. That's pretty cheap, huh?

I'm not going to do a fundraiser. The widget I used to use is a Flash thing and Flash is dead.

So, if you want to send me money to help pay, I appreciate it, but don't feel like you have to.

What is the yearly cost and how can we send you some money?
Do you have a paypal linky thingy or something normal folks can use to feed the animal?

Just wondering why we need secure access to DT... oh, wait, does this mean we can start hosting pr0n here and not get caught?

Embarrassingly, DT has been sending your password in plain text for years now. So someone could snoop on your network and capture it.

For the day to day, it doesn't matter much, but for when you're logging in with your password, it's kind of a big deal.

Edit: actually, I don't know if it's in plain text, but it's tremendously more hackable over http vs https.

So some evil haxxor could post THEIR pr0n using MY account... I see.
