Btw i agree cowles is not the most noob friendly place to ride and prob. best on at least a 6" bike although it can be done on about anything i guess if you got skills.

hey buddy, join us next week. thursday at 6 pm.

I rode it on as a noob on a 10 year old hardtail with 3" of travel up front. Its called getting off and walking the parts that look difficult. (although I did go down that sharp left turn to 6 stairs section and almost biffed it lol) . It is a fun trail that as a noob got me excited to ride it again, but it is somewhat of a nasty climb (HAB for me).

Whats funny is my first OTB at Cowles was when I finally got 6" of travel

Wish I could make it next week, but I got a client appointment. Boo. :( *Fingers crossed she cancels!*

I will be packing for Santa Cruz, so won't be able to make it next week.

Thanks for a great ride last night.

Lesson Learned: No matter how freakin' warm it is, always wear elbow pads when taking the big bike out for a spin.

Time to restock my supply of band-aids...again.

I rode cowles for the first time at around 3:45 yesterday.....the fire road at the top is the most ridiculously steep fire road I have ever ridden/walked.....came down the big rock trail and it was amazingly fun...some of the water bars have some interesting drops ...going to ride it again about 3 today....it started to get crowded with hikers on the way down.....definitely more technical than I thought but good practice

Cowles again this Thursday at 6 pm.

Up Mesa, regroup at the top then go down Big Rock.

Possibly, take Mesa again up to where Big Rock and Mesa splits then down Big Rock. No lights needed.

:drunk:

OK, I'm in this time. I'll bring my bike with me to work so I can go straight there.

yeah, fireroad up past the gate then we take Mesa up then come down Big Rock. We might do a second HAB up to where Mesa and Big Rock split at.
