Does your seat ever slightly drop without engaging the lever? I've noticed that sometimes the weight of my body is enough for the seat post to drop a little bit (a few milimeters). Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make it more stiff? Thanks!

I just upgraded to the ksi950 150mm myself and have experienced the slight drop. Is the seatpost new? I contacted their US rep and he said it is indicative of the seal breaking in and it's normal early on. It's supposed to go away. But he said I could send it in to get it serviced. It really is annoying the way it drops everytime you put pressure on the seat.

Here's his email if you want to contact him. No forms to fill, just email him and send it in. I have not yet sent mine in.

I have the ksi900 and it's about a month and a half old with probably 10 rides on it so far. I didn't notice the drop until today so I can't say if it's happened before. I will keep that email handy in case it becomes a recurring issue.

Mine had the issue out of the box. At first it made a noticeable click when it would compress. The click it going away but the drop is still there. After crashing going down stairway to hell, my post was even sinking 1-2 inches into its travel when I sat on it. But that problem went away during the ride.

I may send mine in soon just to make sure everything is in good working order.

I have had mine about 6 months now and it's been perfect so far
(knocking on wood..)
Maybe when they store them sideways on the shelve it might do something funky to the seals. Hopefully you can get it fixed quickly.

I've had my i950r for a little over a year now, it's been perfect not a single problem since taking it out of the box.

Yesterday I bought myself one (i950R) for Father's Day, installed it, and rode it...that thing is sweeeet! Works perfectly. I hate making my bike heavier, but worth the convenience to keep the flow going. Course, now I can't claim I need to stop and adjust my seatpost when I need a short breather...I'll just have to fess up.

Okay, so mine's ten months old now. Worked fine when I last used it -- okay, forgot to use it -- and flew OTB. After two months sitting in the shed while I was on crutches, it had that slight initial drop when I got back on it. Two-year warranty, bought it from Bike Bling, figured after 10 months they'd tell me to send it in to KS myself. But no, Kerry said bring it in and they'd take care of it for me. Brought it in, Andy at BB took it, said they'd been getting a lot with this problem -- one week turnaround, they'd call me. And that's exactly what happened, as promised. Exactly one week later I got a call, and got it back. Excellent service IMO.

Where did you find one? I tried to get a i7-r or 272 as they call it now but it was unavailable anywhere. I even called KS and they said they had major production problems and did not know when they would be produced again. He said new a design was going to come out but did not know when. I finally gave up and bought a gravity dropper turbo.

I have a client in the bike business who hooked me up. I hear that about 25 of them are here in the states. Guess I should feel special. BTW it still works great.

KS reportedly will have a new model shortly where the remote cable enters the bottom front fixed part of the post, instead of at the top, so you don't have the loop of cable moving up and down with the saddle. Others are or will be doing this too.
