Hey all~
my first attempt out of lurker status and an ongoing struggle to overcome noob status

I have read somewhere that by positioning the levers and shifters "in" two inches from the grips will improve the handling of your rig...

I have not yet attempted to do so, but I was wondering if any1 here has and if it helped or not.. :?:

Lever position is personal preference.

I have in order, grips, brakes, than shift levers. I have my levers pointed down just a little from horizontal. I have small hands so when I'm behind the seat on a steep decline, I can still grab the levers, while my butt is above the rear tire.

My buddy Darryl is opposite of me, grips, shift levers than brakes. He is a pretty tall guy. His levers are pointed more towards the ground. Again personal preference

There is no right or wrong way whatever is comfortable for you. Besides it just an quick allen screw adjustment, so while on the trail pull over adjust the brake levers & shifters & find the way you like it.

What Luna already said, you want to keep your hans on neutral position so when you brake or shift you only move you fingers, the location can vary by how many fingers you use when braking. If you find yourself pressing mid lever you might want to move them forward a bit so you only use close to the hook end of it.
