Mine will not extend fully now. Tried the loosen the cable and loosen collar and pump up and down a few times and tighten collar tips and no luck. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can try adding some air to the valve at the bottom of the post. If you're lucky, that will work for you.

It didn't work for me when I had the same problem recently. My post was leaking air and a tiny bit of oil out of the release button at the top of the post (under the lever that the cable attaches to), so I had to send mine back to Crank Bros for a rebuild.

Service was $50 plus shipping, but they may try to upsell you to the Kronolog for $175.

Throw it away and buy a KS Lev. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah, my KS on the other bike works great and has for years (its a 27.2 and I need a 30.9), so if the fix is a PITA that's probably the way I'll go. Jimbro has a Lev and it seems real reliable.

I'll try the air valve when I get home tonight. I hope it is a Schreader. How do you feel about the rebuild and how long did it take? Thanks.

It's a Schrader valve. You have to remove a nut to expose the outer threads, and take out a screw cap with a flat screwdriver to get to the valve. It's really the only thing you can get at on the bottom of the post. Looks like the right kind of thing for a shock pump.

My post was really stiff after the rebuild, but broke in after a couple of rides. It's only been a month or so since the rebuild, so I can't say how long it will last. They did say they put in an "improved" seal, FWTW. I figured $50 was OK for a rebuild, but it's probably the only time I'll do it. If it goes out again, I'll just get a new post.

Fuse, thanks for the advice, it is now working. After putting in about 70 psi, I depressed the trigger and cycled the post up and down, then checked psi. It went down to about 20 psi. Repeated this process a couple times until 70 psi held and the post bounced back nicely when triggered. Put it back on the bike and it seems to be working great. I'll try it out tomorrow. A bit of oil escaped from the valve but hopefully it was not enough to affect performance.
