Forgive my ignorance, but is it okay to use a 36 hole hub for a 24 spoke wheel build? I have a nice Hadley rear hub I want to use with an extra wheel, but the hole numbers aren't compatible. Does it matter?

Thanks shop wizards.

Come on man. I'm sure it would look the part, but this is mountain biking dude; lots a stress on the wheels, how pricey is a new rim? Good luck.

24 and 36 spoke configurations are not generally compatible. I'd think you'd have real hard time truing the rims (or keeping them so) and it would probably blow up on you when you least expect it.

Sorry this used to be a forum where you could ask a question like this, get a straight answer, and not get a hard time about it. Unfortunately that's not the case any longer which is too bad cause it discourages participation.

i dont believe all of us were cut out for the internet.....mainly due to thin skin and lack of understanding of the word 'sarcasm'...but in this case, he took the teasing quite well.

perhaps you need some lotion on that thin skin of yours?

To stay on topic, what's your take on the question?

No need for another response. I'm rim shopping!

And no, I did not get offended by the responses. Seriously, I asked the question with some hesitation because I knew the answer either had to be "not a problem" or "what the __ are you thinking?!" Really no middle ground because of the topic.

Now, if you mention the way I look in my shorts, I'm gonna be pissed!
