If a shop near you carries bikes spec'd with mid-to-hi end factory Mavic wheelset, they should be able to give you one of them plastic tools for free if you ask nicely. It's standard practice for most shops to remove the wheel packaging and stash the included accessories after they build the bikes. Bikewarehouse used to be so bad that they would take the aftermarket wheelset out of box/packaging and sell the spoke and hub tool separately.

Late to post this but...

I gave up on the nylon wrench that came with a wheel set. They tend to strip too easily rendering them useless. I bought a Park wrench for about $10 from a web store. It is so much easier to use.
