Put the new Thomson dropper on my Nomad yesterday and took it for a ride.

This thing is a work of art, fairly light for a dropper, sooo smooth going up and down, no play in the post anywhere, and the remote lever is sweat… 2/3's the size of the KS lever, just the right size. It perfect.

This post is worth every penny it costs. Now I can't wait for the second one to come in for my sons bike!

Rees a few pics…

Just out of the box…

Almost done, just need to trim the housing and the cable a bit…

The coolest little dropper remote lever ever built…

Done… time for a ride…

I really like the remote. It's small size and design of throw looks to be well out of the way and stealthy. Otherwise, the post looks to rep all that the company stands for...nice machined edges and stout look.

How is the action of the post?

It smooth both up and down, absolutely no play in at all. It doesn't slam down like my KS did, it has just the right "tension" and speed both down and up but takes no more effect to get it down.

I have my remote set up a little tight so it's just a bit hard to push, I did that purposely; I like it that way. You can adjust the "stiffness" of the remote with cable tension over a pretty wide range before the remote won't work anymore. The thing is no matter where you set up the remote within its range there is zero "slop" in it. It just gets easier or harder to push.

The only down side is that the housing they include was too short for my bike, which is too bad because its the nicest cable housing I've ever seen. My quests is though if I call or email Thomson they'll send me a longer piece.

I think I'll do that today.

I'm not sold on the idea of spending $382.50 to replace a dropper seat post that works flawlessly, but I do really like your dog . . . . [insert cheers smiley here]

That's why I ride SS. No dropper, no gears, no worries.

BTW, did I mention I ride single speed?

Just messin' with you - That's a really nice seat post. Congrats.

I agree. I keep it because it makes getting the bike on and off the repair stand a lot easier.
Don't want to clamp onto the dropper part of the post.

I know, I lucked into this one. I've had one on order for a very, very long time.

When that one comes in it goes on my sons Nomad and the KS i950r goes up for sale.
Talk to Doug and Mike at NOTB they have some on order.

When I spoke to Thomson last by email (a coupe weeks ago) they told me they shipped 100 posts this month, this is one of that 100. He said they would ship "significantly" more in 2-4 weeks.

If that's holds true there should be some around the first week of June or so depending on the number of back orders I'm sure some will show up in stock.
