Today I received the KS Lev 125mm seatpost.
I used to own the KS 950R 125mm seatpost, but was tired of the cable moving up and down. I used the 950R for about 2 years and it held up well. I Broke a couple of bolts, developed some play with the post, had to service it to keep the full 125mm travel, but I was happy with the job it did.

Buying this new KS Lev post, I was expecting the quality to have improved and previous problems solved.
***I have not ridden the bike with the new post yet, but I'm not happy already.
Here is what I have noticed already.

The Good
1] Really smooth movement
2] No more cable movement
3] Fixed Lever tension problems of the past
4] The remote will clamp on ODI grips
5] Seatpost shaft is a clean design

The Bad
1] There is already play with the seatpost moving rotationally a couple of degrees
2] Plastic parts are already breaking
3] Red cap that protects the cable with "KS" written on it is not very secure
4] Seat clamp is better than the KS 950R, but still sucks trying to install the seat
5] Cable connection to seatpost is not very good

Final Thoughts
One problem is solved with the new KS Lev (cable movement), but many new problems regarding quality have arose.

Recommendations
1] For those who have money and need a dropper post now and can upgrade to a newer post later, this will solve your problem. This is the best post on the market right now.
2] If you are tight on money and want a dropper post that will last you a long time without any problems, I recommend waiting for the kinks to be smoothed out on this dropper or for a better dropper post. It maybe the best out right now, but it's not perfect.

had a crank bros adjustable post that i couldn't live without, until it failed.

my current state of the art seatpost adjuster:

does the additional weight of the adjustable seatpost negate the weight savings of the carbon frame? or is that an apples and oranges thing?

The thomson looks nice, but it still has the same moving cable as the old KS 950R.
Hopefully thomson will come out with one that the cable is stationary.

If I were your typing teacher, I'd show you where the Caps Lock key is. And I'd insert a smiley here, except I don't do that.

Caps lock and smilies are for people who can't choose the correct words and punctuation to convey their intended message [insert smiley here]. I'll admit that I'm a bit of an extremist and have lobbied strenuously for the abolition of exclamation marks except in the rarest of circumstances.

I like my Lev for the fact that the cable does not move with the post. I do not like my Lev for the fact that sometimes it decides to only go about 1/2 way down. Then I have to try a few more times before it goes completely down.
None of them are perfect, and I suspect even the OMGTHOMSON one will have its flaws as well. I can't believe nobody can make a damn retractable seat post that just works. My office chair goes up and down every time I ask it to, without fail. And, to think I only paid 1/2 the cost of my Lev for that chair.

I've been very happy with my KS I 950r. Had it for just about 3 years now and haven't had even a hint of a problem with it. I take it apart clean it and lube it once a year and unscrew the collar and lube the seat post once every three months.

It just keeps on working. I hate the seat clamp though.

It's going on my sons bike when my Thomson get here hopefully next week or the week after.
