does anyone run this thing on their bike?

does it work well? Seems like a good (cheap) alternative to changing out a 9spd drive train for 10spd clutch system.

I haven't used that, but the Blackspire Stinger is a good cheap option. You can find them for around $25.

I've been smashing mine into rocks for a couple years and it's still going strong.

My daughter got me one for christmas (yes I told her what to get me) - I used to drop chain every time going down marthas in granny, the guide totally stopped that. Shifting seems unaffected

I use it on my FS bike and hardtail. It is simple, light and works great. (Anybody need a blackspire stinger or e13 LG1+ chain guides?)

i had to look up the bionicon. cool idea.

as per lance, i also use the blackspire. the blackspire uses a roller that feeds directly into the chainrings. the bionicon basically a tube to run the chain through.

never any issues w/ the blackspire. the bionicon is probably lighter (and blingier)

+1 for the Blackspire. I had one on my Trance and also on my Nomad never a problem.

I have a lightly used one I'd part with for $30. The color is polished chrome.

I'll sell you a bb blackspire that is missing the roller for a growler of alpine beer.

doesn't matter, they make one model that just replaces one of your spacers on your crank/bb interface. that's the one i have and it hasn't moved out of position yet.

http://www.blackspire.com/qs/product/83/5947/263221/0/0

with it running about the same price as qpcr8tiv's bionicon, the decision due to price is negated.

...or just rollers

I have the M985 rear derailleur and it works well enough to keep the chain on so the guide is not necessary.

+1 for Bionicon!
Been using one for the past year on my 951.
Works great!

As a side benefit, it keeps keeps your drivetrain quiet and eliminates "chain damage" on bottom of the chainstay.
I totally recommend one if you own a carbon frame.
