So what chain lube are people using?

Ive been using Finish Line Wax lube for the dry.

In the past I used the Finish Line Wet lube when its muddy and grimmy, (so winter season).

What's everyone else use?

Rock and Roll Blue -- I like it a lot for present conditions but I haven't used it in a rainy season yet. I mixed that and Dumonde Tech Lite (about 50/50) and planned on starting to use it soon.

Theres several chain lubes that Ive used over the years, some I liked better than others.

I used to use Pedros Icewax years ago, it was slick, lasted several 8+ mile rides before re-lubing, but several years ago, Im not sure what Pedros did but the Icewax started becoming gunky after the first ride and more difficult to clean. Chain is quiet at beginning of ride but as dirt and dust is introduced becomes slightly audible.

Progold is a good lube for wet conditions but needs to be reapplied before every ride. Chain not as quiet as I like.

Rock-n-Roll Blue is another good one, both for wet and dry conditions. Chain not as quiet as I like.

I liked using Tri-Flo but it rarely goes on sale, good for a couple mid-length rides before it needs relubing. Chain is quiet.

One of my favorites is Dumonde, it lasts 2 or 3 rides of 10-14 miles before needing relubing. Chain is quiet.

I also like 3in1 oil, it lasts a couple 10 mile rides before needing relubing. Chain is quiet.

Lately Ive been using some synthetic motorcycle engine oil, cant remember the weight offhand. It works very well, lasts a few 10+ mile rides before needing relube. Chain is quiet.

With some of the lubes the manufacturer will list that they are self-cleaning but that doesnt mean not to at least run the chain through a clean rag. This should be done at the very minimum between each lube. Although I recommend doing a complete chain/drivetrain clean at each relubing...dont forget the pulleys they can build up gunk like no other.

Hope this helps a little bit.

I've been using this stuff and have been happy: http://chain-l.com

I re-lube after 3 to 4 10 to 15 mile rides.

This is what I've been using for the past 1-2yrs...got a good deal at the time; it works good but would looks for something that doesn't require as much reapplication in the future.

Most I get is 2 rides out of one lube.

I like the Rock n Roll Blue... but I'm somewhat anal and I wipe down the chain and relube pretty much every ride. :P
