My rear hub is not spinning freely and while it is not a huge issue now, it can't be good. Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to correct it? It is a Hope Pro 20 rear hub that has bolt on allen bolts (8mm) that secure it to the frame.

This is very normal. Hope hubs need to be serviced, which is not very difficult. Very likely there is dirt in the bearings that need to be cleaned and repacked. Mine are the same and need to be serviced.

Thanks Abzillah for the link. I have problems even thinking about removing the hub from the spokes and the rim since I'm not confident I could put it back together correctly let alone the process that mechanic describes in the video.

Since yours need service too, and if we feel like we can do it maybe we can have a bike repair party. I have a stand, bench vise and a mallet. I also have a wheel truing stand but I have not used it for a while since it only fits 9mm skewers.

Fred, you are a bad influence...

Your hub should be okay for a while longer. I cannot work on the hub for another few weeks. If you can wait that long, I will be glad to have a a bike repair party.
Currently I'm pissed off at my road bikes. I have to fix them first, then the front crank on the Nomad, and then the hubs.
