Many different theories related to the suspension performing better once placed right side up.

Thanks!!

It's not a problem at all. Just compress your fork a few times once right side up and then ride that shit!

Only problems after upside down are my shimano hydraulic brakes getting soft. They pump back up after 10 minutes of use though. Fork doesnt care, like said above cycle the fork a couple of times and go ride it.

Yes. Never had any problems for the last 6 years, but others who have seen my fork lately may disagree...

No, but I think I've heard it recommended for long-term to keep the fork foam rings from drying out. On the other hand, there are hydraulic brake concerns. If you're not having issues, might as well keep doing it.

Yeah, it's fine and does keep the fork seals wet, too.

If your hydros get spongy after hanging the bike upside down, that's due to an air bubble that migrates. Do a bleed-job and that will cease.

Shimano hydros will have upside down problems no matter how good you bleed them. Lots of warnings and notices in the tech paerwork.

As a mechanic, PLEASE DONT DO IT! Its ok to turn it over short term, like fixing a flat, adjusting der. etc. However, long term(ie. overnight, or more than a day) could lead to issues with the brakes and fork. Hydro brakes, especially an open system (Shimano, Magura, Hope), will almost always take in air. Obviously this is bad, and you will need a new bleed. Even closed systems can have pockets of air tucked in the caliper or master cylinder that would otherwise not affect your braking, but will break loose if given time upside down.
Forks can also leak over extended periods. While it sounds logical, storing upside down will not help your seals. Forks are designed to be run and cycled in the upright position as well as seals are designed so that they are lubricated as the fork cycles. Hanging will do nothing except cause oil to pool near the seals and possibly leak out. This can be exadgerated if there is dirt or grime under the seals, as it gives the capillary action of the fluid a bigger opening to creep through.

Well, sounds like some forks & brakes have issues, and some don't. If you have a problem remembering which you've got, probably best to keep it upright.

I've stored my rigid singlespeed with mechanical brakes upside down with no issues. But there's nothing on that bike to leak. I've never done this with my suspension bike though.
