Hi, I'm building up a single speed 29r which is using Niner's bio-centric EBB system. I found a bunch of reviews that were likes and dislikes. Some of the issues are slippage and creaking. Niner's website recommends taping the EBB with teflon tape to prevent slipping. I found other posts where some riders used plumbers putty. Thought I'd ask here if anyone has used either method or any others that worked, or didn't work. Also read clocking the bottom bracket at around 1 and 4 o'clock is the optimum setting. I'm looking to have this built soon and can't wait to try this out! Thanks for any info guys/gals!

Not sure if it will work on a Niner, but I got a Carver EBB for my Zion SS. It has a nylon sleeve that seems to have eliminated the creaks. I'd try the tape or putty first since the Carver is not cheap, but it is there if other options fail. http://www.bikeman.com/CARV-EBB.html. I also like that the Carver tightens outward inside the EBB shell, rather than being pinched by just two bolts that you tighten inward (the EBB bolt tabs on my Zion frame both cracked). Seems to hold it in place better since it pressures the entire EBB shell.
