I am riding a Fox Rp32 (size 7.875), and it looks like the seals are blown. There is hardly any compression and there is a little oil leaking out of the top.

First question, Is there anyone here that can repair it for a good price?

Second question, Is there anyone here that will trade for a rear coil?

Either way, It looks like I have to get this repaired before I can ride again. So, If anybody here wants to repair/buy a Fox Air shock, or knows someone with a rear coil for sale.....

Please contact me.
Thanks, Roar

the single chamber Fox air shocks (everything except the DHX) are pretty easy to rebuild yourself. i can rebuild it for you if you don't want to DIY, but i honestly wont have the time until after thanksgiving. if you need to get it fixed asap, you can always take it to Drake at ISO-Tuned (temecula).
I would not advise taking it to one of the local bike shops.

I serviced my fox shock last spring, it's pretty simple like HH said. I had never done one before and had no issues with it. Got parts for mine from bikebling. More or less just pull the shock, bleed all the air out of it, unscrew the air sleeve and replace all the seals and o rings, put in 1/2 a pillow pack of float fluid and screw it back together.

Not sure if it's the same kit for yours but this is the one I used for mine:

FYI: There's a difference between Air Can rebuild and fox rear damper circuit rebuild. Anyone can do the basic seal and lube job in the air can but you will need nitrogen to recharge the gas chamber in the damper itself plus the o-ring seals (which is not part of the basic Float seal kit you pick up OTC at LBS. Drake (ISO) has nitro and that's where my RP23 is going today. Doing the air can rebuild will not solve your compression issue and oil leak on top.

Damn. The six dollar seal kit sounds a lot better than a $400 coil. Even though i wish i could buy one.

How can I tell if the nitrogen is dead, or if its just the seals?

I don't know how. Air Can rebuild is just for the air spring unit (completely independent and separate from the damper). Damper rebuilt is the actual compression/rebound circuit. If you have a leak on top of your shock, I assume from the adjuster knobs like my RP23 developed lately, that has nothing to do with your air can/air spring seals. Just send your shock to places like ISO to get the damper rebuilt.

Easy peasy -- I'm not sure I'd want to do it after every 8-40 hours of riding time as recommended by Fox, but I certainly won't wait 4 years like I did this time. Even with going that long between services, the interior of the shock was surprisingly clean, and the seals were in great shape. Wiping the shock down after every ride must have done some good after all.

Especially if your flashlight has a really strong spring in it.

Just did mine today, would have taken about 30 min, if I wasn't multitasking.

I do need to find new bushings for mine as they were worn and creaking.
