I finally figured out how to start a post Not really Ive been checking the site on and off for some time now. I finally decided to come out of the shadows.
Growing up I only owned 1 bike, this was no ordinary bike though it was a top of the line Huffy Unfortunately for me the bike was stolen after 2 months (start looking for the kleenex) and I didnt get another bike until much later. In 1997 I got married and moved to Chula Vista Rancho del Rey area. It was there that I heard my calling to start mountain biking.
I was overlooking what I later found out was Racetrack and North side trail, and thought to myself " It would be awesome to actually ride a bike thru those narrow trails" So I purchased my first bike a Schwinn Moab hardtail and my mtb began. Needless to say my skills were non existent. I went over the handlebars on my 2nd ride @ the snake trail. Also going up on the curb was something I hadnt mastered. So when I was ridding group rides with my cousins I would ride in the back so no one saw me get off the bike to go up on the curb. ( hope fully you found the kleenex by now )
I upgraded to a Gary fisher Sugar 3 a year later and by now my skills had improved and going up on the curb was a 50/50 hit or miss OUCH! Here comes the climax of the story.... I still live in Chula Vista, I now ride a Trek EX8 have no problem ridding up the curbs and can climb the Rockhouse in 35 minutes not really.
I already know a few of the guys here and look forward to attending a big DT group ride soon.

Actually both bikes are the same color. But for the record I got mine first. LOL

Well Los, since you asked...yes. I was torn between a Mojo and a Yeti 575 at the time when he bought his EX8. I rode it a day or two after he bought it and...I bought one that weekend.

Then four other guys we ride with bought the same bike too.
