Hi all,

Been lurking here for a little while. I saw links to this site from MTBR and I'm glad I came over to check it out. Lots of cool, friendly folks with local knowledge.

I've been riding for about 2 years now after a looonnnggg hiatus ('88 Stumpjumper, BioPace baby!). Now I ride a 4" GT iDrive. I ride a lot in MTRP (North & South of 52), mainly for convenience -- it's close to where I work and the closest major area to where I live. Most of my other riding friends are in North County, and we do a weekly after-work ride at PQ, Black Mountain, TW, or Hodges. I rode the Sweetwater area a lot last year, but have only been back once this year. My favorite rides this year have been San Juan, Palm Canyon, Cuyamaca Grand Loop and BLT. Really hope to get more BLT this Fall.

I hope to get out on some of the rides advertised here. Going to need a better lighting system though in a month or so for the evening rides.

Take care,

-- Frank --

Welcome, I ride off 52 a lot also (mainly because it's not far from my house) but am hoping to do a san juan ride soon - maybe we can set up a group ride.

Btw i have a couple light's if you need to borrow one for a night ride.

Thanks for the kind replies (and the offer of a light!).

I've got a MiNewt and have plans to get a MagicShine. I feel a lot better riding tech stuff at night if I have enough lighting to land an aircraft.

Forgot to mention Hurkey on my list of faves.

Oh, and beer :)

Good thing, because there is a "new guy on ride" rule where the new guy has to bring beer for everyone to enjoy after a group ride

I'm too lazy to find the link right now...
