Welcome. Where are you reading about technique? Only thing I've ever seen that's useful is the tips section of DirtRag magazine.

"Mastering Mountain Bike Skills" by Lee McCormack and Brian Lopes is a really good book.

Welcome from another N. County dt'r. As far as Saturday rides, there are a lot of great trails close by, just look for a posted ride in the calender section, but first, a very important questions, What kind of beer do you drink??????

...relatively cheap compared to your other hobbies??

Awesome! Welcome from a fellow north county rider (currently living the life of a midwest transplant). Come Oct I'll be mobbing the trails in SoCal again.

Cheers,

yes. i used to play competative paintball. 1300$ gun. then spend $80 for a case of paint and then shoot it. lol. basically shooting my money away atleast $200 a weekend. and lift tickets during the winter get expensive for snowboarding. so yes. one big, smart purchase. and ill have year round fun, immersed with great ppl.
