Hey guys!
I signed up a while ago then forgot to ever make a post! Currently Im rockin a Spesh Rockhopper (05 with vintage canti brakes) and have been tearing it up in the urban area south of Chula Vista (east of 805). Im gettin tired of riding through rich developments and (most likely) some giant rock quarry's property near Soak City. I never seem to go anywhere since I can't figure out a bike rack solution for my motorcycle and the wife seems to aways work one of the weekend days so I always get the "I have to work Sat so let do something Sun" or some variant and she doesnt ride. :crying: Until I start working day hours, weekends are my only chance to ride so I'm lookin for someone willing to trade ride time and trans for gas money and, after November, high quality microbrew beer. I promise to not kill you or any other evilness and Id like the same in return :D

Its a Yamaha FZ6. Single, whats funny is Ive always seen people make bike racks for GSs but never a sportbike. Noissi, that looks like a pretty damn sweet idea. Is it just one of those car bike rails for the roof racks with a little support? I think I might already have a few ideas! Yakima needs to get hot on a 20mm TA mount for when I build a WFO. Does anyone know if 2.4 size tires will fit securely in a roof rack rail? Id hate to see my bike gone with the wind.

These aluminum rails can be easily widened if necessary:

And welcome!

I came up with an idea for a bike rack based on this idea thatll be secured to the subframe. RockyMounts sells the mounts for pretty cheap compared to Thule and Yakima and Home Depot has alum stock for pretty cheap thatll do the job just fine. Now my only concern is what to do with my riding gear when im on the mtb.

That was my thought as well. Im going to start getting mats together this week and next week then I will buy a drill and rail after I get paid on the 1st. Ill make sure to document the whole build. Does anyone know if its illegal to have a flashing red light on the rear tire of the bike since itll stick out past the bike? In WA where Im from, any load that sticks out past your vehicle just had to have an orange marker (i.e. that orange stretchy tape stuff, paintballers will know what Im talking about) Ill get another cheap Cateye tail light and either leave it on solid or blinky mode.
