Hi all,

I am moving back to north county SD in a couple of weeks having spent an awesome 7 years in CO. Looking forward to getting back into surfing but plan to continue mtbing as it's become my passion. I'll be checking out/posting on the Calendar thread when I get into town and would like to meet up with others that get stoked by techy singletrack.

I'd also like to get involved in the local mtb advocacy community and would like to hear the skinny on SD trail advocacy/building/maintenance.

P.S. Here's a pic to spread the goodness that is mtbing! If you've never ridden in the CO high country you've got to make it a priority. Here's a pic from last Saturday-near Guanella Pass. No "trail", just cairns every 200 yds at ~12,000 ft.

Thanks for the welcome gp-pilot, bajamtnbkr (ever been to punta cabras to surf?) and Red Hot Sloth.
WRT mtbing: perhaps I am taking a step backward; however, at some point family and career take precedence. Years ago I would frequently ride in Rose Canyon, Marion Bear/San Clemente Park, Tecolote Canyon, Mission Trails and Santee to Poway (Sycamore Canyon/Martha's) with occasional trips out to Daly Ranch, Elfin Forest, and Noble Canyon/BLT.
See ya'll in a couple weeks

Welcome! Some of my most fond memories were from the ~14 months that I lived in C. Springs. I loved it there. After finding out how good the snow was on multiple week long trips there, moving there for a full season seemed the only logical thing to do. It does bum me out that I hadn’t jumped on a mountain bike yet when I lived there. It’s a place that I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for. The best campground in the world in my opinion is up river from a little town in the San Juan Mountains, a place that I’ve spend many nights breathing in the perfect air. Oh how I miss it.

:welcome: from another North County resident!! Having vacationed in the Utah/CO area several times, I know enough to say it's sure gonna suck for you when you get out here, as far as trails go. The weather kicks ass though, so at least there's that!

My family lives in Golden and Denver. I'll be visiting at the end of August as I do most every year. It sounds like you will already be gone when I get there so look me up when you get to town. I live in Santee. What kind of riding do you like?

I'm also from Colorado, summitted 15 14ers and rode atv's in the Canyon City area alot. I came back against Californication. Both states have awesome landscapes, but Colorado is way cleaner. Welcome aboard. It's funny as you enter Ca on the 10 the first billboard is breast enlargement.
