Hi, took me a while to find my way to these boards, but learning alot from everyone.

Bought my KHS XC-604 from Doug at nbbikes a few months ago, and now mtb has become a passion. Can't go very long during the day or night without thinking about biking.

Despite all the put-downs of LPQ, it still is one of my favorite places to ride, especially since it is basically in my backyard (yes, I did send in my letter supporting Tunnels). Parts of the canyon are so serene it does good to the mind and body. My main goal after getting the bike was to climb up Old Lopez. Couldn't do it even on granny granny, but slowly that's changed to now being able to scoot up the hill in middle front chainring.

I'm sure I've seen a few dt'ers around, but haven't put faces to names/aliases yet. Hope to meet all of you on the trails.

BTW, here are some pics of a bobcat near Old Lopez that I saw a few months ago...

Welcome.

I usually would see a bobcat after Wagon Wheel X-ing near the "trench HAB", but it was a dark phase bobkitty......and very skittish. Your pic shows a light phase kitty and the fact that you got a pic is impressive.

I would time trial Lopez for fun from the bottom to the top on lunch rides.......hammer the first part of the climb....then recover on the upper section after the corner before the big sprint to the finish.....it was beautiful out there yesterday for the Archipelago.

Good choice on the bike and the shop in which you bought it.

Welcome! I usually enter LPQ via Old Lopez on my weekday rides - I work near the top trailhead. And I know exactly what you mean about progressing from climbing it with the granny to finally cleaning it in the middle ring.
