hey guys -

Moved from the east coast a few months ago, and with no waves these past few days I finally got out on my stumpy today. Living in Carlsbad - decided to hit up calvera... rode some pretty killer terrain but also hit a lot of dead-ends, flats, and fences (why is there a concrete wall running through the middle?!).

This is the best forum I've seen around so I hope to get out there with people who know of some good flowy lines. Calvera is closest to me, but I'm up for driving for good terrain. I'll post in the calendar when I go and also be sure to bring (good) beer.

See ya guys out there
-evan

:welcome:

Calavera is best ridden the first few times with locals who are familiar with the trail system there. There are tons of cool, flowy, rocky, buff, features, etc out there, but because there really isnt any signage and a lot of intersecting trails its difficult to get an idea on how to set-up a great loop there until youvew had the opportunity for a guided tour, after that you'll be making your own favorite loops and routes there.
We usually ride there every weekend and theres a bunch here who do the weekday rides there as well, throw something into the calander, if you post it, they will ride.
Hope to see you out on the trails and welcome to Dirttreaders!

Welcome.

There are probably 3-5 group rides posted for calaveras every week. Probably one of the best spots around.... Something for everyone.

Fences? You saw fences? The concrete k-rail wall went up in the 70's to keep 4WD's out of the least Bell's vireo nesting grounds.

Rode Calavera today and it's right down the street from me too. Maybe I will see you out there sometime. As I'm sure you've noticed it's a popular place for people on here. I f you want some suggestions on loops or are looking for people to ride, just throw myself or any of these ^^^ people a message.

WELCOME!!

You are off to a good start on san diego riding. I think you kicked the hornet's nest (in a good way) of DIrTtreADers riding, or in a more bike specific term the "hub".

Hope to meet you soon on the trails!

:bang: Timmy!
