Hey everyone,

Just getting into the sport. I needed something to do when there's no snow, and I hate getting into the ocean so surfing is out.....always liked getting off-road so this seems like a good fit. Looking forward to learning lots and maybe riding with some of you.

Welcome! Also from Vista. You've got four decent riding spots very close by to get you started: Lake Hodges, Daley Ranch, Calavera, and La Costa. More or less in that order as noob-friendly terrain. Check out http://www.mountainbikebill.com/ for trail info, or the TR's on this site. Check the Calendar and join a ride...new guy rules apply. No rides posted? If you show up at any of those places around 8 or 9 on a Saturday or Sunday, you stand a good chance of finding someone to show you around.
