Thanks, chuckanado!

I figured I was carrying at minimum 3 liters of water (which I was already used to the weight of from playing airsoft). Constantly sipping as I went. Mind you one of those liters was powerade, so I had electrolytes covered. I used to have bad asthma when I was a lot younger which eventually went away to a degree where I wouldn't need to worry about it when I did activities, and I don't believe at that time it was acting up, at least not when I set out to leave.

Well, the cell phone did save my life, but since I was wearing tan and earth-colored clothing that day, I blended right in with the mountain. My bike was dropped into a bush somewhere, but for some reason they couldn't see that either!

Hope that clarifies some points! :)

Welcome.

Glad to hear you lived to tell the story.

BTW CDs make great signal mirrors.

Ok, so you were well-hydrated, took all the right steps but still had a heat stroke. Not sure what you could've done differently, other than stayed home on the couch.

Notes to self:
  • Ditch all the earth-colored camo-style clothing
  • Be sure to wear bright colored jerseys, etc.
  • Tape some old CDs to the top of my helmet

... because staying home on the couch just aint an option.
