On some other forum that will remain nameless, long long ago probably about when a certain Mass. guy was hightailing it back east, the owner of the forum decided that the use of colors was "abused". He turned it off for the whole site. It was an ugly mess with bb color tags everywhere. A certain sloth likes to write in color and protested and got threats of banishment for his trouble. The staff replied with the usual "this forum's free, I don't know what you all are crying about".

It's a bummer cuz, in general, I like those guys. I just don't know why they have to have so much control over everything...

I want to give kudos to d00der for setting this forum up. It's been many a time that a great online community resource has given way to becoming a businiess portal and lost all sense of friendship and diversity which in my opinion IS what community is about. It is refreshing that we have a clean slate to build up into a great place to communicate, share ideas and RSVP as riders and friends without any BS or politics.

Thanks from me too dooder! It is fun to mess with people who take internet discussions too seriously, but then again you have to deal with the people crying about it to the mods. It's refreshing to have a site that we discuss without worry of censorship and people crying to the mods.

By the way Stop sniffing my seat Sniffer!

I just wanted to give this a bump for newcomers.

I started this site because another site that I really liked was just being over moderated and the owner kept talking about how it's a privileged, blah blah blah. The last straw was when he wanted to teach everyone a lesson by having a day of silence where he turned the forums off.

My hope is that this site will feel more like your site and not mine. Any suggestions that you have to make it that way are gratefully accepted. The costs of maintaining this site are very low, so unless there's a specific need, I won't be asking you for money. The drawback is you won't get a special badge on your user giving you extra permissions. Everyone has the same level of capability.

Also, I have no plans to censor anything other than the two words I've already censored which are *** and ******. ;)

This is a MTB site first, but there's a pub for off-topic discussion. It makes no difference to me which forum has more topics or is more active because we're all friends here and there's only so much to talk about that's MTB related.

That's all I have for now, and I seriously doubt anyone's made it this far in this post anyway... :P
